Dr Cotrufo is an exceptional plastic surgeon. His outstanding skills and expertise extend far beyond the specialism of cosmetic surgery, which is why I am now travelling from Scotland to his Harley Street Clinic, London, for treatment.
I first met him in 2016 when he worked as a Consultant in plastic surgery at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary (ARI). I was transferred by air ambulance after a very serious road traffic accident in which, as a pedestrian, I had become trapped between 2 cars. I sustained a severe crush injury to my right leg with massive circumferential soft tissue loss and open 3b proximal tibia and fibula fracture. The severity of my injury meant there was a considerable risk of amputation and presented both the Orthopaedic and Plastics teams with significant challenges which culminated in limb salvage surgery in a combined 15 hour operation. The Plastics side of this operation was led by Mr Cotrufo. When my case was presented to him prior to surgery, it had been considered from the Plastics side that my leg could not be saved. However by soft tissue coverage using a local rotational flap (part of my calf muscle), as well as a free flap transfer from my left thigh to my lower right leg, he found a way to restore the vascular supply to enable my leg to be saved. After surgery I remained in hospital for 6 weeks, the first half of this in ARI, and the second half in a hospital nearer my home town when I was placed under the care of Consultants at Glasgow Royal Infirmary (GRI). I initially progressed very well. Unfortunately my recovery was long and protracted due to the internal fixation in my leg progressively failing requiring an external frame to be fitted, almost 1 year after my initial injury. This was another complex operation which again presented significant challenges for Orthopaedic and Plastics teams as it required areas beneath flaps to be accessed to remove broken metalwork. It was explained to me that because I’d had a particularly nasty injury, the ends of my bone had been stripped of blood supply at the outset resulting in them being unable to heal properly. 17 months after my initial injury my fracture had finally healed and the external frame removed. In total I had required more than 22 hours of orthopaedic and plastic surgery and I continued with my extensive physiotherapy sessions which lasted 33 months. My sincere gratitude extends to everyone involved in my recovery through our incredible NHS, particularly at ARI and GRI, without whom I would not be as I am today.
Although my free flap has been complimented by medics, I wanted it reduced in volume so I could fit better into everyday clothes and feel better about myself. Debulking was not an option through the NHS. In January 2019, I met with Dr Cotrufo at his London Clinic to discuss what, if anything, my options were. He explained that debulking the free flap may be possible using VASER Liposuction, what the risks involved in this procedure were and how these can be reduced as my vascular supply cannot be compromised. He was also clear on what my outcome could realistically be so as to manage my expectations. Firstly I required a CT scan to determine if a reduction was possible. It was good news, the CT scan showed it could be done. So now, more than 3 years after my initial injury, I am attending Dr Cotrufo’s Clinic to progress matters. My treatment is being done very gradually in a staged approach of VASER Liposuction to reduce risk to my vascular supply, whilst also using Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injections 4 to 6 weeks before and after each procedure (the PRP injections are to encourage vascular growth). I have now completed the first session of VASER Liposuction which was undertaken in Harley Health Village hospital. I am very pleased with the results so far. My best chance of a successful outcome is with him, which is why I am travelling from Scotland to London for this treatment.
I cannot recommend Dr Cotrufo highly enough.

Sooo !! Where do I start from. Honestly Dr. Cotrufo is hands down the best surgeon in the UK. I have the best results and most people say to me ( you had your body done in the Uk ? And you look this good ? I tell them yes !!! ) dr. Cotrufo is very different from other Uk surgeons. Each time I look at myself in the mirror I am thanking God for letting me find him! He is professional, patient and extremely intelligent. He is experienced and knows exactly what to do. I promise you. And his wonderful team. I have had a couple of surgeries in the UK with surgeons on Harley street but none of them come close to Dr. cotrufo. And his wonderful team. Wiesje Weeber booked my surgery and from the moment I messaged her, before I met the surgeon I knew I was in great hands. She answered all my questions, made me feel so comfortable. And after the surgery ? She never stopped checking up on me(which was very strange because most surgeons and the team once you pay up and you’ve had the surgery, they check up on day 1, day 2, day 3 and that’s it. They stop caring much but not Wiesje. She was so sweet! I would message her at 12am and she would reply immediately even on weekends. ( dr. Cotrufo if you read this please know this, Wiesje genuinely loves what she does and you are so lucky having her on your team ). To anyone else reading this ! If you are still wondering if Dr. Cotrufo is the one for you ? Please book like right now ! An amazing result! Dr Cotrufo is definitely the right doctor if you want someone who can tailor an outcome to your body and really cares about the details. He went through what was possible and has exceeded all expectations! I was very nervous to have my procedure, but his lovely manner really put my mind at ease. His assistants are also lovely and always available when i had questions during my aftercare. I can’t recommend him and his team highly enough.

I met Dr Cotrufo through a recommendation from a friend. I had several previous experiences with other plastic surgeons in different countries and I was impressed with the level of knowledge and understanding this doctor showed me since our first meeting. As a top model, my image is simply essential and when I was unhappy with previous outcomes, Dr Cotrufo had only very realistic and safe solutions to suggest. I am very grateful for his service and would trust him completely with any body contouring procedure, including breast surgery, VASER liposuction and buttock augmentation. Best decision I made is when I cancel flying to Spain for my BBL procedure and choose to stay here in London. From first consultation, I feel confident and knew I can trust him. Dr . Cotrufo is calm, patient, very friendly and polite. He was brutally honest right from the beginning with regards to risk involved, precautions and outcomes. Professional, honest and goes above and beyond for the treatment and care. I recently had the smallest amount of Botox, 5 months after a baby, and the results are astonishing ! Considering I’m lacking on sleep, the minuscule amount injected was exactly the “ mama makeover I needed” still me, but better! As It was my first time, so I didn’t want to look over done or extremely lifted- just a little tweak which made a massive improvement in the most natural way possible ! Wish I would of tried it sooner.

I can’t recommend Dr. Stefano Cotrufo enough! After dealing with severe fibrosis from a previous liposuction and hernia mesh repair, I was turned away by several surgeons who deemed my case too complex. Dr. Cotrufo initially hesitated but ultimately accepted the challenge, combining courage, compassion, and professionalism. He carefully reviewed my MRI and ultrasound, explaining the risks involved, and ensured I fully understood the procedure.

We opted for revision VASER 360 and fat grafts, supported by lifestyle adjustments he recommended for optimal recovery. My surgery at Harley Street Clinic was delayed and complex, lasting 5 hours, yet Dr. Cotrufo stayed late to monitor my recovery personally – this was something I learned from the nurse Ivan and I felt quite special. Now, over six weeks post-op, I’m thrilled with the results. I had a few seromas post-op, but Dr. Cotrufo performed aspirations and steroid injections, resolving the issue. His continued care has been invaluable.

Dr. Cotrufo’s dedication is unmatched, and I highly recommend him to anyone facing a complex surgery. Thanks to him and his wonderful team—Elsa, Wiesje, and Allison—for their exceptional support and care.

Dr Cortrufo was lovely from day one and I had no issues, he was very reassuring and explained everything that I was concerned about clearly. I was always at ease and had nothing to worry about. It’s been 4 weeks after my bbl surgery and I can already see good results!

I met Dr Cotrufo in November for consultation as I wanted to have Bbl procedure done , as I have quite a few ongoing health issues Dr Cotrufo suggested to have the surgery in two stages and also I was a heavy smoker and he advised me unless I give up smoking he would not proceed with the surgery and also I have heart condition. He is the only Dr who took upon my case which I’m very grateful for I’m very happy to have met him and who encouraged me to give up smoking.

I just had my 1 week post op brazilan butt lift consultation with Dr Cotrufo and I’m extremely happy.

I began my consultations with him last year and after seeing several surgeons in the USA; NYC and Miami (one in particular that he had recommended) I decided to come back to him for two reasons; one that he had already performed surgery on 4 of my friends with amazing results and was pleased to see his aftercare was excellent which is truly important to me.

Secondly I felt in the 3 consultations I had, he was always consistent and thorough and never rushed through them even if it meant he ran over time. He really wants to deliver what YOU want and not what he wants but still gives you his realistic professional opinion. I was very particular about what I wanted since I had researched for so long and I’m pleased I made the decision to do my surgery with him.

I have minimal bruising, minimal and invisible scars which I was afraid I would have a lot of. Its always important to him his patients are under little trauma as possible whilst achieving the desired result and for that he’s a top surgeon in London in my opinion.

I’m even considering doing my breast revision with him next year.

He has a kind patient manner and put me at ease on my surgery day with his big smile and reassuring me always.

I was able to message with him after each time 24hrs of the day and he would always respond promptly to my questions no matter how big or small. This is the kind of aftercare that’s appreciated when you have undergone surgery and this is not always the case with other surgeons.

Dr Cotrufo is helping me treat my alopecia areata. I’ve achieved great results and have really enjoyed his kind and professional manner. He has a great technique and I experience minimal pain. It’s not a cheap treatment (steroid injections), but I have no regrets and my confidence has improved tenfold.

I chose an initial consultation with Dr Cotrufo because he came highly recommended by friends who had used him previously for the same procedure. I chose to do my tummy tuck and vaser lipo with him because I felt reassured. I was really happy with the whole service provided – from initial consultation, the hospital care and post surgery consultations.
